Amelia has a strong passion for contemporary and a cappella vocal ensembles, with extensive experience in directing, writing and arranging for vocal groups. She is known for her distinctive ensemble arrangements, including energetic medleys, creative mash-ups, and harmonically rich repertoire that challenges and inspires singers while remaining musically engaging and accessible.

Vocalocity:
Amelia established the Vocalocity vocal ensemble in 2016. The ensemble is made up of passionate singers with a strong drive to tackle challenging repertoire and complex harmonies. Under her direction, Vocalocity achieved numerous successes in competitive settings and became well known for their sparkling, high-energy performances in the Blue Mountains community and at a national level.
After a brief hiatus, Vocalocity will return in 2026, continuing its legacy of musical excellence and ensemble collaboration.
National achievements include:
- 3rd place - National School Division, the Australian A Cappella Awards (Melbourne, 2018)

Amelia also established the ORC's contemporary vocal ensemble for teens and young adults, Counterpoint. Counterpoint became known for their polished performances and were regularly asked to represent the Conservatorium at community events, including performances at See Saw Winery, and for charitable organisations such as Can Assist and Zonta.

Sound Squad:
Amelia currently directs Sound Squad - an Orange-based contemporary adult choir at Clever Cookie Academy. Sound Squad is a joyful, inclusive weekly choir for those who simply love to sing, with members from all walks of life.
Recent performance highlights include Stars of Orange (Cancer Council fundraiser), the Orange Business Awards, and Zest Fest, where Sound Squad was invited to perform on the Main Stage alongside headline act, Adam Newling.

Teaching Philosophy

Amelia's teaching philosophy is centred on creating a positive, supportive, and nurturing learning environment where students feel safe to explore, grow, and express themselves authentically.

She values the individuality of each singer, prioritises vocal health and wellbeing, and encourages confidence, curiosity, and creative self-expression. Music education is Amelia's absolute passion, and her work is grounded in encouraging, nurturing, and celebrating Individuality, Creativity and Passion in every singer.

Testimonials
“Amelia is an amazing vocal coach that I couldn’t ask more of! If you’re looking to expand your vocal horizons, I would highly recommend you have lessons with Amelia! I started off only looking to expand my backing vocals as I was a guitarist in a band and Amelia has helped me find and work on a voice for my own lead vocals as well as develop confidence in singing which is something I thought I'd never be able to do!”
Professional Musician
“Over the past 4 years that I have been singing with Amelia, I’ve seen a journey that has lead to some of my best memories and proudest achievements. Often putting in her own time and I assume much of her sanity, Amelia drags us towards vocal success and managed to land me on the HSC Honour Roll for Music 1. If that isn't a testament to both her strength of will and her ability as a teacher I don’t know what is. As one who’s been a small part of this journey, it is difficult to express the true impact that Amelia and Vocalocity has had on all of us; both as musicians and as people. To Amelia I say thank you from us all, for the incredible memories that will be cherished forever (or at least until we make new ones at the next rehearsal).“
